Ministries

The King’s School remains the largest of our ministries, and occupies most of our facilities during the week. With over 700 children from pre-primary to matric, and more than 100 staff members, the school serves families from many backgrounds, and in this regard has always been a Kingdom project. Some of its history has been described above. God used The King’s School to pioneer quality Christian education in South Africa, and today, the school can confidently claim an excellent academic, cultural, and sporting record, with an environment in which children are encouraged to trust God and develop their potentials in Him.

Current estimates place 5,700,000 people living with HIV in South Africa. These people are teachers, doctors, policemen, mothers and fathers. And as this group slowly disappears, they are leaving behind them an orphaned generation. According to UNICEF, South Africa is a country where nearly 2 million of its children have lost one or both parents to AIDS.

Oasis Haven addresses this crisis by finding families, and establishing family homes for abandoned and HIV+ children.  Their daily goal is to provide the highest level of care while pursuing an adoptive family for each and every orphaned child.

Since its inception, Oasis has seen over 60 children of varying ages find their Forever Families.

Is a practical community upliftment project begun in June 2005 and active in Windsor East. Adopt-a-blockers visit residents every Saturday morning. We visit the same residents every week, sharing the love of Christ and building strong relationships. Adopt-a-blockers help and serve the residents in any way we can. Every Saturday is something exciting - from helping with food hampers, painting, gardening, searching for a runaway child, helping to pay for someone's studies to playing soccer with children in the block. We make many friends in our blocks and pass on hope and encouragement each Saturday. Residents are motivated to make long term changes in their lives. Adopt-a-blockers sweep and clean the streets, picking up rubbish and tending to gardens.
Adopt-a-Block meets every Saturday morning in the main car-park at 9.00am.

It is a registered as a not for profit section 21 company (2007/018044/08)

Local, national, and international missions and church planting are an integral part of who we are as a local church. Over the years we have planted out several churches and sent many teams on short and longer term mission. Opportunity for involvement exists on a number of different levels:

  • Local mission into our immediate community, particularly Windsor East;
  • Short term mission trips to Zimbabwe and Zambia in particular. These trips are usually organized under a COTN Gauteng Cluster initiative;
  • Opportunities to accompany combined teams to other nations with the wider COTN family;
  • Supporting of various initiatives with resources and finances.

As a local church, we directly support the following missions:

  • Dave and Carol Cape working in the Caribbean and other parts of the world (http://www.footwasher.net);
  • Johan and Rina Janse van Rensburg in Tajikistan (New Creation is their home church);
  • Catherine Fitzpatrick in Sudan;
  • Adopt-a-Block.
